The Loyola Chicago women's basketball team tips off the 2023-24 season on its home court Monday, Nov. 6. The Ramblers get the action started with crosstown rival UIC. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in Gentile Arena. Both squads are coming off exhibition wins and look to carry that momentum into the opener.
QUICK HITS
• Loyola played host to Roosevelt over Oct. 29 for it's only exhibition this season. The Ramblers were powered by three double-figure performances leading to a 71-49 win.

Emma Nolan led all-scorers with 12 points off the bench. She was 6-of-12 from the field. Nolan also finished with five boards and two blocks stepping up defensively for the Ramblers.

Sitori Tanin added 11 points on 5-of-8 from the field. She also filled the stat sheet with five boards, two assists, one block, and a steal.

Kira Chivers was the final Rambler in double figures for Loyola with 10 points. She was 6-of-7 from the line. Chivers tallied five boards and four assists.
• Loyola dominated the paint, 44-8, and won the rebounding battle, 52-33.
• The Ramblers enter their second season in the Atlantic 10 after finishing the 2022-23 campaign at 6-24 overall.
• Seven letterwinners return to the roster, including three starters. The Ramblers welcome six newcomers, including two freshman and four transfers.

Jenna Rubino-McCormick to the program in the off-season.
• Head coach
Allison Guth is in her second season at the helm of Loyola with a 6-23 record. She enters her eighth year as a head coach after spending the first six seasons at Yale. Guth holds a 99-74 career head coaching record.
SCOUTING UIC
The Flames were tabbed sixth in the Missouri Valley Preseason Poll back in October. Last season, UIC posted a 19-17 overall record with a 9-11 finish in MVC play. The Flames beat Valparaiso in the opening round of the MVC before Northern Iowa ended their run. UIC was invited to the Women's Basketball Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky. UIC fell to New Mexico State and FIU before picking up a with against NIU in the season finale.
UIC played one exhibition game this season and beat Parkside, 94-73. Four players scored double-figures in the outing. Keimari Rimmer recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards.
Jaida McCloud was named a Preseason All-MVC Second Team selection. She is UIC's top returning scorer and rebounder (12.2 ppg, 6.6 rpg). She ranked 17th in the conference in scoring and 11th in rebounding during the 2022-23 campaign.
The Flames are led head coach Ashleen Bracey. She's in her second season at the helm with a 19-17 career record.

The Ramblers lead the all-time series, 36-33. UIC won the last meeting in 2022-23.
Sam Galanopoulos led Loyola with 11 points on 4-of-9 from the field and 3-of-4 at the line.
