CHICAGO – The Loyola Chicago women's soccer team added eight new Ramblers to their squad on National Signing Day, head coach Barry Bimbi announced. The signees bring a wealth of experience from the high school level and are a mix of defenders, midfielders, forwards, and one goalkeeper.
 
"We are excited to welcome eight new members to our Rambler family," said Bimbi. "We have a good balance not only positionally with these women, but also think this class will help us with the physical demands of the Atlantic 10 conference. We know they will all be great ambassadors of Loyola Women's Soccer."
 
Zoey Bohmer | Goalkeeper | Wheaton, Ill. | Wheaton North
Bohmer is a four-year letterwinner out of Wheaton where she also played basketball. Last season, she was named All-State, All-Conference, the Dukane Goalkeeper of the Year, and Shaw Media All-Area. Bohmer was a 2022 All-Sectional honorable mention. She was also an All-Sectional and All-Conference honorable mention in 2021. Bohmer playes for Wheaton United club where she helped the team to a third place finish two straight year at the State Cup.
 
Bimbi on Bohmer: "Zoey is a very solid goalkeeper that makes difficult saves look routine with her reading of the game and solid footwork."
 
Catherine Cline | Defender | Indianapolis, Ind. | Cathedral
Cline is a letterwinner out of Indianapolis. She helped her team to three City Championships, four straight Sectional Championships, two Regional titles, and a state-runner up finish in 2020. Individually, Cline is a two-time All-City Soccer Team selection, All-District Team honoree, a 2022 All-State pick, and 2023 All-USA Central Indiana Super Team. Cline has six career goals and 32 assists. She also plays for FC Pride ECNL club team.
 
Bimbi on Cline: "Catherine has a physical presence on the field defensively, has the ability to score goals, and can play multiple positions at the college level."
 
Roos van Roekel | Defender | Barrington, Ill. | Barrington
Van Roekel is a letterwinner out of Barrington. She helped her squad to a 2023 state runner-up finish. The team also won their conference last season. Van Roekel plays for the FC 1974 club squad. With the team, she helped the to an E64 National League runner-up finish and second place at the 2022 State Cup.
 
Bimbi on Roekel: "Roos came onto our radar late in the process and has shown be a proven winner at the club and high school levels. She can play anywhere along the backline which is a valuable asset."
 
Stella Kohl | Defender | Elmhurst, Ill. | York Community
Kohl is a letterwinner and two sport athlete out of Elmhurst where she also played basketball. Kohl was tabbed All-Conference and is a member of the National Honor's Society. She also plays club for Sockers FC Chicago.
 
Bimbi on Kohl: "Stella has the versatility to play different positions at the college level because of her tactical awareness and technical skill."
 
Olivia Anderson | Midfielder | Crystal Lake, Ill. | Central
Anderson is a letterwinner out of Crystal Lake where she's played three seasons for the Tigers.She is a three-time All-Conference Selection and helped lead the team to their first appearance in the state finals. Anderson was named a 2022 Phoenix Standout and a 2023 ENCL Player to Watch. She also plays for the Eclipse Select club team.
 
Bimbi on Anderson: "Olivia is a tough midfielder that can break up any attack but also has a nose for goal in the final third of the field."
 
Lydia Case | Midfielder | Sylvania, Ohio | St. Ursula Academy
Case is a letterwinner out of Ohio. She was named the 2022 TRAC Player of the Year and has All-Conference, All-State, and All-Region honors. Academically, Case is a four-time Honor Award winner and a two-time Dean's List honoree. She also plays club ball for Liverpool FC Michigan. In 2021, they won the US Club Ohio State Championship. She was also named to the regional and national team.
 
Bimbi on Case: "Lydia is a crafty midfield that sees the game at a high level and makes the players around better."
 
Alex Gib | Midfielder/Forward | Lilburn, Ga. | Parkview
Gib is a letterwinner out of Georgia. She's a four-time All-Regionand a three-time All-County and All-State selection. Gib was tabbed to the 2023 Georgia High School All-Star game. In the classroom, Gib is a four-time academic letterwinner and a member of the National Honor's Society. She also plays for GSA ECNL club.
 
Bimbi on Gib: "Alex covers a ton of ground in the midfield and has the ability to break down defenses off the dribble."
 
Jocelyn Leigh | Forward | Evanston, Ill. | Evanston Township
Leigh is a letterwinner out of Evanston. She helped her team to two Central Suburban League South Conference and Regional Champions. In the spring of 2022, she also helped the squad to a Sectional and Super Sectional Championship, finishing fourth overall at state. Combining the 2021 and 202 seasons, Leigh has 51 goals, eight hat tricks, and 17 assists helping her to All-State, All-Conference, MVP, and multiple Player of the Week honors. Leigh also plays for the FC United 2005 PA Red Team.
 
Bimbi on Leigh: "Jocelyn is a proven goal scorer at the club and high school levels.  She has the composure and competitive attributes that will translate nicely to the college game."
