Loyola Chicago Starts A-10 Play at St. Bonaventure

Tip-off is slated for noon CT in New York

The Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team commences its second conference season a part of the Atlantic 10 as it travels to New York to face St. Bonaventure. Tip-off is set for noon CT with the game streaming live on ESPN+ from the Reilly Center.

  • With the non-con slate in the rear-view mirror, the Ramblers - starting with a road contest against St. Bonaventure - look to improve on their first A-10 season a year ago in which the team saw one league win.

  • Nationally, the Ramblers are 73rd in assists per game (15.70) and second in the Atlantic 10 while Loyola's 19.40 turnovers forced per game rank tied for 63rd in the nation and third in the A-10.
  • Kira Chivers paces the A10 in 3-PT field goal percentage, shooting 60-percent from deep. Close behind and in the eighth spot is Sam Galanopoulos who shoots the deep ball at a 44-percent clip.
  • Galanopoulos' 4.9 assists per game ranks first in the league (T-49th nation) and Sitori Tanin's 1.5 bpg ranks fifth.
  • Following Saturday, Loyola will gear up to take on nine opponents throughout the month of January (SLU, at Dayton, URI, VCU, at UMass, St. Bonaventure, at Fordham, at Duquesne, St. Joseph's).
2023-24 Rambler Bites
  • Seven letterwinners return to the roster, including three starters. The Ramblers welcome six newcomers, including two freshman and four transfers.
  • In addition to new players, Loyola added assistant coach Simon Harris and assistant coach Jenna Rubino-McCormick to the program in the off-season.
  • Head coach Allison Guth is in her second season at the helm of Loyola. She enters her eighth year as a head coach after spending the first six seasons at Yale.
Scouting The St. Bonaventure Bonnies
  • The Bonnies own a 3-8 overall record as they also play their first league contest Saturday.
  • St. Bonaventure tallied its first win of the season against Robert Morris, 70-52, and beat Loyola (MD), 55-51, on the road. The Bonnies' most recent win was against Youngstown State, 55-47, on Dec. 16.
  • Most recently, the Bonnies fell to Colgate, 58-45, at home. Dani Haskell scored a team-high 15 points while Nadechka Laccen, also in double-figures, added 10 points.
  • Laccen paces St. Bonaventure on the glass, averaging 5.9 boards per game.
  • Haskell, who's attempted the most 3-pointers of any Bonnie, is 29-percent from long range.
  • Haskell is St. Bonaventure's most efficient free throw shooting, making 88-percent of her shots at the charity stripe.
All-Time Against St. Bonaventure
With last season being the first-ever meeting between the two programs, Loyola Chicago trails, 1-0, in the all-time series with St. Bonaventure.
