DADE CITY, Fla (February 7, 2023) – After two days of competition, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team wrapped up the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play with a third-place finish, defeating High Point in the consolation round. Senior
Timmy Crawford continued his strong form, finishing the event undefeated.

Erik Hoops, "We finished third, very easily could have been in the championship today but that's how match play works out."

The Ramblers ended the round even with High Point with a score of 3.0-3.0, but were granted the victory by virtue of a tiebreaker. Freshman
Sebastian Kasun (4&3) was Loyola's top performer today, taking care of business to win his match with three holes to go to finish the event with a record of 2-1-0. Crawford was right with Kasun, defeating his opponent by a margin of 2&1.Â

Zach Walsh both played to ties to finish the week with a record of 1-1-1. Freshmen
Ryan Walsh (2-down) fell today to earn 1-2-0 record while
Charlie Kulwin (4&3) finished the week at 0-3-0.

"Timmy did great this week." Hoops added. "Playing in the first spot means you know you are getting the best guy from each team and to go undefeated shows how strong of a player he is. He led us this week. The rest of the guys all battled well, with Sebastian having some really good wins from the 2-spot. All of the guys have made some huge strides over the winter and it was seen this week. I'm excited to be back on the road and can't wait to get back to Florida in a month."

The Ramblers will return to action in a month's time, competing in the Daytona Invitational, March 7-8, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
