CHICAGO (Aug. 26, 2023) – The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team is set to play host to Lindenwood this Sunday (Aug. 27) in its home opener at Loyola Soccer Park.

LAST TIME OUT
The Ramblers traveled to Michigan State last Thursday (Aug. 24) for the regular season opener. The match reached the 54^th minute, but rain, thunder, and lightning forced the teams to retreat to their respective locker rooms. Eventually, with no end in sight to the weather, the game was canceled and declared a no contest.

WHEN AND WHERE
LUC returns to Rogers Park this Sunday (Aug. 27) for its home opener against Lindenwood. The "Hustle to Hoyne" game is slated for 1 p.m. CT. Fans and students are encouraged to join the pep rally prior to the game! Meet at the St. Ignatius Community Plaza by 11:30 a.m. to get your free replica jersey (while supplies last) and hear from head coach Steve Bode! Then, follow the band and spirit squads to Loyola Soccer Park where free paletas and Raising Cane's lemonade await your arrival!

HOW TO WATCH
Sunday's match will be live streamed to ESPN+ with Scott Sudikoff and Jack Cannon on the call.

Fans can also follow the live stats free of charge.

THE HISTORY
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two squads.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

• Lindenwood was picked to finish four-of-eight in its league (Ohio Valley Conference) after posting a 3-11-1 overall record and a 2-6 mark in league play.
• The lions dropped their season opener last Thursday in Chicago to DePaul 1-0.
• An 83rd minute goal from the Blue Demons broke the 0-0 tie.
• In March 2023, the OVC announced the addition of men's soccer, the conference's 19th sponsored sport.
• The Lions competed in the Summit League last season after making the jump from NCAA D-II to D-I in February of 2022.

LOOKING AHEAD
Loyola Chicago will return to action next Friday (Sept. 1) for a non-conference road matchup against Cleveland State. Kick is set for 5 p.m. CT at Krenzler Field in Cleveland.
