BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Loyola Chicago women's volleyball team was back in action Friday afternoon, taking on Wright State on the second day of the Hampton Inn Invitational. The Rambleres were unable to get into any rhythm offensively, falling by a 3-0 final.
Â
Anna Feldkamp paced Loyola's offense, sharing the team-high with 11 kills on a .400 hitting percentage. Feldkamp was matched in kills by
Emily Banitt.
Bree Borum dished out 24 assists to go along with 13 digs for the double-double while
Grace Hinchman added a team-leading 15 digs.
Â
A kill by Feldkamp pulled the Rambelrs within one in the opening set, 16-15, but from there on it was all Raiders who dominated down the stretch to take a 25-16 decision and a 1-0 lead in the match.
Â
The second set went down to the wire, as extra points were needed to determine a winner. Loyola took a 15-11 lead midway through the set on a Raider service error. Wright State would pull level shortly after and the two teams would trade points down the stretch. The Raiders would claim the final two points of the set for the 28-26 victory and 2-0 lead in the match.
Â
Wright State scored the first five points of the final set and never looked back, picking up a 25-13 victory to seal the 3-0 decision.
