Loyola Chicago and VCU to Clash Saturday

Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CT inside Gentile Arena

Tipping off
After downing co-defending 2022-23 Atlantic 10 regular season champions Rhode Island this past Wednesday at home, the Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team aims to carry its momentum into Saturday's (Jan. 13) matchup with VCU. The Ramblers will tip-off against the Rams at 1 p.m. CT inside Gentile Arena with the game streaming live on ESPN+. Peter Ferreri will call the action.

Quick Hits
  • The Ramblers used a 20-11 run in the first quarter to gain the advantage over the Rhode Island Rams. That nine-point cushion proved handy as URI outscored the 'Blers in the final three quarters (17-16, 16-15, 12-10).

  • Coming off the bench, Emma Nolan exploded for a career-high 18 points in the win. She was an impressive 5-7 from the field, 4-4 at the line and 4-4 from beyond the arc.
  • Since conference play has begun, Loyola is shooting the deep ball at a 39-percent clip. Its season average of 35-percent ranks 55th-best in the nation.
  • Loyola is 6-1 when they achieve more points in the paint than their foe and 7-0 when their starters outscore their opponent's starters.
  • In the ninth spot of the A-10's best shooters from beyond the arc is Galanopoulos who makes 42-percent of her shots from deep.
  • Additionally, Galanopoulos sits No. 8 in the conference's field goal percentage leaders (.412). She's fourth in the league in assists per game (4.5) and second in assist/turnover ratio (2.2). She's just 40 points away from reaching 1,000 total throughout her career.
  • Fisher ranks 14th in the A-10's 3-pointers per game (1.8) and steals per game (1.5).
  • As a team, Loyola is second in the A-10's assists per game leaders (15.80) and 66th nationally.
