CHICAGO – This National Signing Day, Loyola University Chicago women's soccer is proud to announce five commitments from the class of 2025. The talented recruiting class includes four Illinoisans and one Michigander, comprised of two defenders, two midfielders and one forward.
"We are very excited to add these five women to the Rambler women's soccer family. This is a talented class where each has competed at the highest competitive club level. We know this group will help us continue to compete for championships and will wear the Maroon and Gold with great pride," said interim head coach

Abby Sudkamp | Defender | Mokena, Ill. | Lincoln-Way Central
Named to Top Drawer Soccer's Recruiting Roundup on Sept. 16, the center back was the All-State Athlete of the Year and a two-time All-Conference awardee at Lincoln-Way Central, where she also lettered in basketball. She's a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Science National Honor Society. Sudkamp plays for Windy City Pride Chicago Inter ENCL and was a Second Team All-Conference player.
Staveskie on Sudkamp: "Abby is a solid center back whose toughness and ability in the air will translate well at the next level."
Mary Fornelli | Midfield | Chicago, Ill. | Resurrection College Prep
Chicago's own Fornelli competes at the club level for Sockers FC Chicago who were the 2023 U19 Girls Academy National Champions. She plays both outside back and midfield. Fornelli is a member of the National English Honors Society and National Science Honors Society, and an honor roll student at Resurrection College Prep.
Staveskie on Fornelli: "Mary has the versatility to play different wide positions. She gets out of pressure well and works very hard defensively."
Gabby Wojtarowicz | Midfield | Algonquin, Ill. | Harry D. Jacob's
Wojtarowicz, another Illinois native, is a four-time All-Conference and All-Area outside wing and midfielder at Harry D. Jacob's High School where she is also a National Honor Society member. In her junior year, Wojtarowicz was named to the Chicagoland All-State Team and on the all-state watchlist. She plays for the Rockford Raptors ECNL and was part of the Olympic Development Program State Team (2019-2023) and the ODP Midwest Regional Team (2021-2023).
Staveskie on Wojtarowicz: "Gabby is a strong one-on-one attacker with pace. She is competitive in nature and is dangerous in the attacking third."
Sophie Ackerman | Defense | Vernon Hills, Ill. | Vernon Hills
Ackerman was an All-Conference pick, an All-Sectional Honorable Mention and a Lake-County All-Area Team Honorable Mention in 2024 after assisting her team to victory in the Regional Championship and an appearance Sectional Finals. She was a High Honor Roll student for four years and a member of the National Honor Society. Ackerman competes at the club level for Chicago Fire FC United 2006 GA where she helped the team win three Mid-America GA Division 3 titles and get to the elite eight round of the GA National Playoffs in 2022.
Staveskie on Ackerman: "Sophie is a solid outside back with great ability to run up and down the wing. She works very hard on both sides of the ball."
Ava Fleming | Forward | Troy, Mich. | Troy
Hailing from Troy, Mich., Fleming is an attack-hungry forward who garnered All-Conference, All-District and All-Academic nods for herself. The two-year varsity captain and National Honor Society member at Troy High School also plays for Liverpool FC Michigan where she was named the 2024 Coach's Player of the Year and earned a spot on the ECNL Midwest All-Conference Second Team.
Staveskie on Fleming: "Ava is a solid attacking player. She has a nose for goal and a strong ability to connect that final pass."
