CHICAGO – Loyola University Chicago softball announced its spring schedule on Friday afternoon ahead of the 2025 season. It features 52 total games, 26 against nonconference opponents and 26 Atlantic 10 matchups, which includes nine conference doubleheaders.
The Ramblers are on the road for all of nonconference play, commencing on February 7-8 at Northern Iowa where they face North Dakota, Omaha, UNI and Drake in the UNI Dome Tournament. Loyola then heads south to Tampa, Fla. for The Fonseca Memorial Tournament at USF (Feb. 14 –16) to take on St. John's, South Florida and Penn State. The tournament semifinals and finals take place on Saturday, Feb. 15 and Sunday, Feb. 16.
Next up softball travels to East Carolina for the Pirate Invitational (Feb. 21-23), featuring matchups against Boston College, ECU and Canisius. For their penultimate nonconference tournament, the Ramblers hit the road to the Pacific Northwest for the Oregon Classic in Eugene, Ore. (Feb. 28 -March 2) where they face San Diego, Portland State and Oregon. In its final nonconference slate, Loyola faces Valparaiso, Marshall and Buffalo in the Marshall March Madness tournament in Huntington, W. VA. (March 7-9).
Loyola commences A-10 action in a series against Fordham on March 15-16 in the Bronx, N.Y. The Ramblers host St. Joeseph's in their home opener at Loyola Softball Park on March 22-23. Softball then makes a quick trip down the Red Line to take on DePaul on March 25.
The Ramblers resume league play at home against Rhode Island (March 29-30) before traveling north to St. Bonaventure, N.Y. for a series against the Bonnies (April 5-6). Loyola stays on the road to Saint Louis for one doubleheader on April 12.
Back home in Chicago, softball hosts reigning A-10 regular season and tournament champions Dayton on April 12-13. The Ramblers break up conference play again to face another crosstown rival, Northwestern, in Evanston, Ill. on April 16.
They close out their league road matches at Massachusetts (April 18-19) and George Mason (April 26-27) before returning home to host George Washington (May 3-4) and wrap up regular season play.
The A-10 Championships will be held in Washington, D.C. at George Washington from May 6 through 10.
