Ramblers End Regular Season at George Washington

Tip-off set for 1 p.m. CT on ESPN+

Tipping Off
Having won two straight and aiming for a first-round bye in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Tournament, the Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team ends the 2023-24 regular season at George Washington Saturday (March 2) at 1 p.m. CT. The action inside GW's Charles E. Smith Center will stream live on ESPN+ and locally on Monumental Sports Network.

Quick Hits
  • After a three-game skid earlier this month, the Ramblers ended their home slate with wins against UMass and Dayton Feb. 21 and 25, respectively.
  • Most recently on Senior Day versus the Dayton, Loyola Chicago grounded the Flyers behind three seniors in double-figures.
  • Sam Galanopoulos led the way with a game-high 16 points, her 11th time logging double digits in the past 12 games.
  • Alyssa Fisher's 13 points and Sitori Tanin's 10 rounded out LUC's top scorers. Loyola is 6-5 when three finish in double-digits.
  • Kira Chivers dished out six assists, a game-high, and her most since racking up eight at Richmond on Feb. 17.
  • Loyola Chicago finds strength in the second half of contests. This season, it has outscored its foes, 980-937, in the final two quarters and 10-5 in overtime.
  • Galanopoulos' 13.5 points per game ranks 10th-most in the league while Fisher's 13.3 are 11th-most.
  • Galanopoulos also ranks No. 4 in the A-10's assists per game (4.1) and No. 5 in assist/turnover ratio (2.0). Additionally, her 44-percent clip from beyond the arc ranks No. 4.
  • Scoring on Tanin in the post is no easy task. She's averaging 1.5 blocks per game, the fourth-most in the league. Meanwhile, she brings down 6.3 rebounds per game, ranking 10th.
  • Without looking too far past George Washington, the Ramblers aim to have a better showing at the upcoming A-10 Tournament than they did last season, having lost in the first round to Duquesne.
  • Seeds 5-9 receive a first-round bye while seeds 1-4 receive a double-bye. Seeds 10-15 will kick off the action March 6 in the first round. Currently, Loyola is No. 8 in the conference standings - the league will use its standings to determine seeding.
2023-24 Rambler Bites
