WASHINGTON, D.C. - Miguel Abaitua of the Loyola University Chicago track and Field team was named the Atlantic 10 Track Performer of the Week, the league's office announced Tuesday. It's his first time earning the plaudit.

This past Thursday at the Elmhurst Twilight Invitational, the Bilbao, Spain, native took first place in the 800m with his time of 1:51.49. His time in Elmhurst was two seconds shy of his personal record which ranks No. 4 in program history.

Loyola Chicago is next in action at the A-10 Championships. The event, which runs May 4-5, is being held in Fairfax, Va.
