ELMHURST, Ill. – Loyola University Chicago track wrapped up competition at the Chicagoland Championships on Saturday with a series of solid performances in the 800m and 3,000m events.
In the women's 800m, the Ramblers saw a strong showing in the same heat, led by Lindsey Kiehl, who claimed a heat victory in 2:16.17. Claire Blotnik followed closely behind, finishing second in 2:18.37 while recording a personal-best time. Natalya Kuchenbuch added a seventh-place finish in a separate heat, crossing the line in 2:19.03.
The women's 3,000m featured three Loyola competitors in the same heat. Jo Collins led the group with a third-place finish in 10:21.83, while McKenzie Willard placed eighth in 10:35.88. Kayla Schmidt rounded out the Ramblers' heat with a 12th-place finish in 10:50.08.
On the men's side, James Howell delivered one of the top performances of the day, finishing second overall in the 800m with a personal-best time of 1:53.38.
The Ramblers are next in action at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., April 16-18.
