GREENWOOD, Ind. –
Chris Devaney of the Loyola University Chicago track and field/cross country team added to his extensive list of collegiate honors by logging College Sports Communicators Academic All-District accolades, the organization announced Tuesday.
The New Plymouth, New Zealand, native recently graduated from Loyola Chicago carrying a 3.78 GPA in his Master of Finance program.
Devaney wrapped up a distinguished collegiate career this past spring, earning recognition as the 2024 Atlantic 10 Outdoor 10k Champion and holding four top-3 all-time records at Loyola, including the fastest 10k time ever run by a Rambler. Recently named to the A-10 Outdoor All-Academic Team, he also qualified for the NCAA Championships Outdoor 10k semifinals for the second consecutive season, having been ranked 39th nationally in the event.
To qualify for the CSC Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must rank in the top-50 of a
TFRRS regional performance list ranking at the time of nomination and hold at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
