CHICAGO – The Ramblers are eagerly anticipating a 2024 campaign which kicks off Aug. 10 with a home exhibition match versus Wisconsin. Loyola Chicago is set to compete in 16 regular season matches this season, including seven to be played on the friendly confines of Hoyne Field.
The Ramblers return 15 student-athletes from last year's squad, including the Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper of the Year,
Aidan Crawford. The keeper logged five solo shutouts, helping Loyola lead the conference in goals against average per game (.985).
Petar Janjic and
Noel Hansson, who were A-10 All-Rookie Team honorees in 2023, are also back for more in 2024. Janjic racked up five goals and 11 points during his freshman season and was named the A-10 Player of the Week four times. Hansson led the team in minutes played with 1,223 while his defensive line forced opponents to a measly .115 shooting percentage.
Looking to qualify for its third-straight A-10 Championship, Loyola Chicago will play eight league foes through the year. Conference play kicks off Sept. 21 at home against defending league champions, Dayton. The regular season begins Aug. 22 at Michigan before Loyola's home opener on Sept. 5 versus Wright State under the lights.
