SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Loyola University Chicago men's and women's cross country teams took second place at the 45
th Notre Dame National Catholic Championships Friday. The Rambler men were led individually by
Jason Clayton who took fifth in the 8K while the women were paced by
Julia Isham who took 10
th in the 5K.
Notre Dame took first place in both ends of the men's and women's races.
Clayton clocked a 23:52.20 to finish in fifth place, just 12 seconds slower than the first-place finisher. Behind Clayton was
Miguel Abaitua who took 11
th with a time of 24:02.50. In 14
th was
Miles Clisham with a time of 24:13.80.
Jake Phillips was the fourth Rambler to cross the finish line with a time of 24:15.80.
James Lawrence was the final Rambler in the top-20 with a time of 24:20.60.

Gabe Ryan,
Woody Jerome,
River Santiago,
Izak Bibile,
Fionn Harrington,
James Howell,
Aidan Collins, and
Kyle Knutson rounded out the Rambler men in that order.
On the women's end, Isham raced a 17:16.20 to take 10
th. On her tail in 12
th was
Delia McDade-Clay with a time of 17:27.80.
Grace Jostock took 17
th, running a 17:41.20.
Emma Watcke (17:44.40) and
Roisin Treacy (17:45.60) took 18
th and 19
th, respectively.

Aiden Grasse,
Lily Mataway,
Ali Gillooly,
Claire Blotnik, and
Priscilla Ravera finished next in that order.
The Maroon and Gold are next in action at the 45th Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational Friday, Oct. 4. The historical meet will take place at Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago.
