CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer is set for its first Atlantic 10 road match of 2024 as the squad travels to Saint Louis Saturday, Sept. 28. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT with the action streaming live on ESPN+. 

KICKING OFF

• The Ramblers and Billikens are both searching for their first league wins of 2024 as the two teams opened their conference slates with draws.
• Loyola Chicago is hoping to turn the page after suffering a 3-1 defeat to crosstown rival, DePaul, this past Tuesday.
• Luka Ivancic, a standout freshman who's started every match in the forward position, scored the Ramblers' lone goal of the contest in the 74th minute.
• The Ramblers secured a 2-2 draw against Dayton last Saturday, earning a valuable point in their league opener - a result that could pay dividends as November approaches.
• The 'Blers continued their undefeated streak of four-straight draws against the Flyers.

• Head Coach Kevin Kalish is in his 13th season with the Billikens. He holds a 63-28-22 overall record at the helm of his alma mater.
• With a stout defensive line, SLU ranks second in the league in goals allowed (.83). Keeper Jeremi Abonnel sits third in the A-10 in goals against average (.833) and seventh in save percentage (.737).
• Luis Lara leads the team with three goals and six points. He has 20 shots to his name, the most on the team.

• Last season, Loyola Chicago compiled an 8-2-5 overall record and was 4-1-3 in conference play.
• In its third season as part of the Atlantic 10, LUC looks to earn its first conference championship since 2019.
• The Ramblers return 16 student-athletes from the 2023 roster, including nine with starting experience under their belt.
• Along with their returners, the Ramblers added 13 key pieces to the 2024 roster, including 10 freshmen and three transfers.
• The Ramblers remain undefeated when scoring two or more goals, a streak that has been ongoing since Sept. 30, 2017.
• According to the NCAA, Loyola Chicago currently has the 46th-toughest schedule in DI men's soccer with a .580 percentage. LUC's schedule is the fifth-toughest in the A-10.
• Keeper Aidan Crawford has faced 93 shots thus far in the season. Last year, he faced 107 total. The keeper has averaged 2.86 saves per game, ranking 10th in the league. His 20 total saves rank ninth.
• New to the 2024 season, the clock will stop for substitutions during the final 15 minutes if the game is tied or if the leading team makes a substitution. Substitutions are allowed during any stoppage in play. Additionally, teams are now permitted six substitutions per game.

SERIES STUFF VS. SAINT LOUIS

• In an all-time series that dates to 1983, Loyola trails, 2-7-1.
• In the most recent meeting, Loyola Chicago emerged victorious, winning 1-3 at Hoyne Field on Oct. 14, 2023.
• The Billikens (7-3-2, 4-0-1 A-10) were ranked No. 25 at the time as the Ramblers dealt SLU its first league loss of the season.
• It was the Ramblers' first win over Billikens since 1996.
• Petar Janjic's game-winner was his second of the year and fifth goal overall.
