WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Atlantic 10 released its latest batch of weekly awards and Loyola Chicago's redshirt freshman goalkeeper Allison Deardorff was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week on Monday, Sept. 30, her third league honor this season.
Deardorff recorded four saves and her sixth shutout for a career high against La Salle on Sunday, Sept. 29 to help the Ramblers stay undefeated at Loyola Soccer Park.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, at then-No. 20 Saint Louis, Deardorff made five saves and shut out the Billikens for 80 minutes before they scored a penalty kick to equalize the match.
The draw result and Deardorff's defensive efforts assisted Loyola in earning its first point against a Top 25 team since 2019.
In her debut season, Deardorff continues to make a name for herself. The starting keeper and Itasca, Ill. native earned the A-10 Rookie of the Week on Sept. 16 and was named the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week in the league's first drop of weekly awards on Aug. 19, marking Deardorff's first-ever conference recognition.
Deardorff's third weekly A-10 accolade is Loyola's sixth overall since joining the league in July 2022.
This week the Ramblers are on an East Coast road trip for a pair of A-10 matchups at VCU on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. CT and at Richmond on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. CT.
