CHICAGO – On the heels of another undefeated weekend at home, Parker Van Buren was named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday morning, after he combined for 38 points across two matches.  

The senior outside hitter recorded a match-high of 18 kills, just one shy of his season-high, against Rockhurst (Jan.18) on .457 hitting. He added a season-high seven digs, three service aces and two block assists.  

Against Saint Francis (Jan. 17), Van Buren notched another match-high 11 kills on .647 hitting and served a season-high four aces. The Cross Plains, Wis. native added five digs and two block assists.  

On the MIVA leaderboard, Van Buren ranks second in points per set (4.89) and in kills per set (4.28), and third in hitting percentage (.364). Nationally, the 6-foot-9 redshirt senior is No. 11 in aces per set (.733), tied for 14th in kills per set (4.00) and ranks 20th in hitting percentage (.419).  

The Ramblers wrap up their six-match homestand this weekend against Missouri S&T on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. and Mount Olive on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m.
