Loyola Chicago (6-3-2, 1-2 A-10) hosts George Washington (3-5-3, 0-3 A-10) on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. before traveling to La Salle (5-4-1, 2-1 A-10) on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m.
QUICK KICKS
- In last week's road trip to Davidson, rookie Abby Sudkamp netted her second goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Catherine Cline, the first key pass of her career (Sept. 28).
- Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Allison Deardorff ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in saves (.863) and in shutouts (7) and sits at No. 3 in goals against average (.636) and fifth in saves per game (4.00).
- Nationally, Deardorff is tied for second in shutouts, No. 24 in save percentage and No. 32 in GAA.
- Junior forward Zoe Hevey is also a constant on the A-10 leaderboard, ranking fifth in both shots (3.73/game) and shots on goal (1.64/game).
- The Ramblers are No. 9 in the eastern region of the United Soccer Coaches Top 10 Regional Rankings.
- Loyola welcomed 10 newcomers to their 2025 roster, including five true freshmen and five transfers while 18 Ramblers returned.
- At the helm of the program is head coach Jon Sandoval in his first season at Loyola.
SCOUTING REPORT
In its most recent match, George Washington fell 2-1 against Saint Louis with midfielder Elizabeth Cruz scoring the Revolutionaries' lone goal in the 49th minute (Sept. 28). GW forced four corner kicks, three coming in the second half, and totaled six shots on goal, five of which came in the final 45 minutes. Defender Amelia Booth is the squad's leading shot taker (15) while Cruz is the most accurate behind seven on-target attempts.
La Salle heads into its next two A-10 matchups against Saint Louis (Oct. 2) and Loyola on the heels of a thrilling 3-2 victory against George Mason. The Explorers bested the Patriots after being down 2-0 at the half; Ella Cadigan netted La Salle's first goal in the 48th minute on an assist from Alexis Garcia then Kameron Rase converted on a pass from Kayden Williams for the equalizer in the 71st minute. Minutes later, Elizabeth Estrada found the game-winner after a penalty kick. Six different Explorers have at least two goals this season and forward Justyce Hollenbach leads La Salle in shots with 23 (10 SOG).
SERIES HISTORY
The Ramblers lead the all-time series 2-0 against the Revolutionaries; Loyola has a combined seven goals and zero against in the two meetings with George Washington. Loyola shutout GW in the first-ever matchup in Washington, D.C. in 2022 and again in 2023, but in Chicago.
The series between Loyola and La Salle is tied 1-1-2, with both draws coming in their last two meetings. The upcoming matchup marks the second-ever in Philadelphia in the series.
