First touch set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+

CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team heads to Dayton for its final regular season contest of 2025. First touch from Baujan Field is set for 6 p.m. CT with live coverage provided by ESPN+.

KICKING OFF
  • Loyola remains in the hunt for an Atlantic 10 Championship berth and needs a win over Dayton to keep those postseason hopes alive.
  • Loyola Chicago recently celebrated Senior Day against No. 16 Saint Louis this past Saturday.
  • The Ramblers drew with the Billikens, 1-1. Jack McFeely scored in the 45th minute for his third goal of the season, assisted by Petar Janjic and Antonio Pinto.
  • Loyola played with a man advantage from the 17th minute after a Saint Louis red card.
  • However, Saint Louis equalized in the 84th minute (Abdoul Karim Pare, assisted by Tanner Anderson).
  • Goalkeeper Aidan Crawford made three saves in the draw and has allowed one goal or fewer in three of his last four outings.
  • Pinto, who was recently named one of the top 100 freshman in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer (No. 56), sits eighth in the Atlantic 10 in goals per game with .333. The freshman also ranks ninth in points per game with .87.
  • Also among the A-10's leaders is Hugo Urdiales who ranks seventh in shots per game with 2.21.
  • Loyola Chicago shares the ball effectively as the team ranks fifth in the conference in assists per game with 1.53.
GLANCE AT DAYTON
  • Head Coach Dennis Currier is in his 21st season guiding Dayton men's soccer. He's 199-125-68 (.594) in that time with the Flyers.
  • This season, the Flyers are 5-2-7 overall and 3-1-3 in Atlantic 10 play.
  • The Flyers have the ninth best shutout percentage in the nation with .571. Dayton has shut out eight opponents thus far.
  • Keeper Gavin Krenecki has been a force between the posts for the Flyers. He leads the league and is among the best in the nation in save percentage (.854), shutouts (eight), and goals against average (.538).
  • On the attack, Ethan Sassine ranks first in the A-10 in shots per game (3.15) and second in goals per game (.538). He also ranks second in points per game and shots on goals per game with 1.23 and 1.31, respectively.
2025 NOTABLE NUMBERS AND NOTES
  • Hugo Urdiales, a 2024 All-Conference and CSC Academic All-District pick, started 13 matches and logged 987 minutes last season. A three-time A-10 Rookie of the Week, he led Loyola in goals, shots and points, and was named to the A-10 Preseason All-Conference Team.
  • Loyola was picked seventh in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Coaches' Poll. Defending champion Dayton topped the poll with eight first-place votes, followed by George Mason and Saint Louis. The Ramblers earned 91 points in the voting by the league's 13 head coaches.
  • The offseason featured plenty of activity. Grant Bailey, selected 86th overall by D.C. United in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, returns for another season with Loyola.
  • Former Ramblers Julian Cisneros and Marc Torrelles signed with FC Naples in USL League One, where they've impressed in their rookie campaigns.
  • The team also spent spring break in Italy, traveling to Milan, Lake Como, Parma and Rome while facing Serie D competition.
  • On the sidelines, assistant coach Ricardo Pinto returned to the staff, while former pro Kervin Kenton joined as an assistant as well.
  • This season marks the first without former A-10 member Massachusetts, which moved to the Mid-American Conference in July.
  • Loyola returns 17 players and seven starters responsible for 21 of its 24 goals last season, along with 59 of 72 points.
  • Head coach Steve Bode, entering his fourth year at the helm, has signed nine newcomers and owns a 26-17-21 career record with the Ramblers.
SERIES STUFF VS. DAYTON
  • In an all-time series that dates to 1987, Loyola Chicago trails Dayton, 2-5-4.
  • The Ramblers last win over the Flyers came in 2014 when Loyola shut out UD, 2-0, at home.
  • Last season, the 'Blers tied Dayton, 2-2, at home to open A-10 play. Entering the match, Dayton was ranked No. 25 by Top Drawer Soccer.
