CHICAGO – The Loyola University Chicago men's and women's cross country teams head to Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, Nov. 1, for the Atlantic 10 Championships at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
The 48th annual men's 8k begins at 9 a.m. CT, followed by the 37th annual women's 6k at 9:50 a.m. CT. Both races will stream live on ESPN+, with live results also available.
The Loyola men enter the meet ranked No. 4 in the Midwest Region by the USTFCCCA and are receiving votes in the national coaches' poll. The women are ranked No. 12 in the Midwest.
The Rambler women will look to capture their fourth straight Atlantic 10 title and seventh consecutive conference crown, following three Missouri Valley Conference championships from 2019 to 2021. The men's team seeks its third title in the past four years.
At last year's championships, Loyola's women claimed the team title with an average time of 20:49.92, led by Delia McDade-Clay, Emma Watcke, Grace Kuhn and Roisin Treacy, who finished together in 20:45.4 to take fourth through seventh. Watcke, Treacy and Grace Jostock (14th, 21:07.9) each posted personal bests.
James Lawrence led the Rambler men with a third-place finish in 23:48.8, followed by Miles Clisham (7th, 24:12.3), Jake Phillips (11th, 24:22.9) and Samuel Field (13th, 24:23.0). Gabe Smit also earned a top-20 finish in 24:26.6.
This fall, the Loyola men recorded runner-up finishes at both the Notre Dame National Catholic Invitational and the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational, while placing fifth at the Missouri Pre-Nationals behind a top-10 effort from William Sinclair. On the women's side, Loyola opened the season with a team win at the North Park/CUC Early Invitational. Treacy led the Ramblers at Missouri Pre-Nationals, finishing 29th in a personal-best 20:18.2 to earn Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week honors.
Following this Saturday, the Maroon and Gold turn their attention to the NCAA Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Okla., on Friday, Nov. 14.
