CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago women's volleyball took on the undefeated in A-10 play Dayton squad Friday night. Despite late efforts in the first and second sets, the Flyers swept the Ramblers, 3-0.

The loss dropped Loyola's record to 11-13 overall and 8-4 in A-10 action.

"Dayton's a very good, disciplined team that finds ways to score," said head coach Amanda Berkley. "I am proud of the team for the way they responded after going down 11-1 in the first set, but we need to be more gritty and find a way to get our offense going sooner to score."

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Ramblers fought back from an 11-point deficit and tied the set 22-22 on a kill from Kate Maley, but Dayton hung on to win the first set 25-23. Maley led the Ramblers with five kills in the first.

SET 2 | A 25-21 set-two loss put Loyola behind two sets to none in the match. The Ramblers lost the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set. Leyna Nguyen tallied five kills in the second to lead Loyola.

SET 3 | Dayton finished off the sweep with a set-three win, 25-9. The Flyers jumped ahead 6-0 and furtherd it to double-digits at 12-2 never looking back.

Game Notes

• Maley led Loyola with nine kills.
• Emma Henry tallied 15 assists.
• Nguyen added seven kills and 13 digs.
• Ava Hunter had the team's lone ace.
