CHICAGO — The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer program has announced the additions of Ori Yedlin, Mateusz Drazek and Zach Dunne to its 2026 recruiting class. The two incoming freshmen join the Ramblers from the Chicago FC United MLS NEXT academy system, one of the nation's top youth development environments. Dunne, an international transfer, has garnered experience at the highest levels in Ireland.
Ori Yedlin • Goalkeeper • Northbrook, Ill. • Chicago FC United MLS NEXT
Yedlin arrives in Rogers Park after a five-year run with Chicago FC United's MLS NEXT program. A 2023 MLS NEXT All-Star nominee, he helped guide his squad to two MLS NEXT playoff appearances and was part of a nationally recognized side that climbed as high as No. 3 in the country during the 2024 season.
Yedlin, a 2025 graduate who intends to major in finance, was an honor roll student and honors language student at Glenbrook North.
"We're thrilled to add Ori to our team," said Loyola Chicago Head Coach
Steve Bode. "He's been the starting goalkeeper for his FC United squads for several years now. In addition, he's been a captain and a leader his teammates look up to. Ori is a driven player with an ambitious work rate and energy that will add immediate value to our team."
Mateusz Drazek • Midfielder • Des Plaines, Ill. • Chicago FC United MLS NEXT
Drazek joins the Ramblers as a versatile midfielder and left-sided player capable of impacting the game in multiple roles. The Des Plaines, Ill., product previously earned a U16 Polish National Team call-up, bringing international experience into the Loyola program. Like Yedlin, Drazek competed exclusively in the MLS NEXT academy pathway, training with Chicago FC United while attending Elk Grove High School.
A National Honor Society member and Highest Honors graduate, Drazek plans to study finance at Loyola. His family has a strong soccer background—his father played for the Pogon Szczecin Academy in Poland and spent time with the first team, while his older brother currently competes for Northern Illinois men's soccer.
"We're very excited to add Mateusz to our squad this spring," Bode stated. "He's a player who has proven he can create and score goals consistently. He's a left-footed, technically gifted player with strong vision on the field. In addition, Mate is a great character to add to our locker room, and we're thrilled to welcome him."
Zach Dunne • Midfielder/Forward • Cork, Ireland • University College Cork / Cork City FC
Dunne joins Loyola as an experienced junior transfer from University College Cork. The Cork native competed with Cork City FC, one of Ireland's top youth development clubs, and earned Irish Schoolboy caps in matches against England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
He graduated from Presentation Brothers College in 2023 and will major in business at Loyola. Dunne also brings a strong athletic family background—his father, Alastair, was an Irish international hockey player.
"Zach is an experienced attacking player who has the ability to make an immediate impact on the field for us," said Bode. "He has played and trained at a very high level in Ireland over the past several years. He's matured a lot through these experiences and will bring age and composure to our team. We cannot wait for Zach to join us in Rogers Park."
