Bonnies Can't Keep Up with Explosive Ramblers

CHICAGO – The Ramblers have won 19 of their last 20 at home after downing the Bonnies 77-53 in Gentile Tuesday night. It's the fewest points Loyola Chicago has allowed an Atlantic 10 opponent to score since joining the league. Four Ramblers scored double-figures to help the record-setting night.

Loyola improves to 14-8 overall and 5-4 in A-10 play.

"I'm pleased with our guys having the right mindset after a quick turnaround from Saturday," said head coach Drew Valentine. "Miles and Des were dynamite. That was one of the best games I've seen Miles play. We will come back Thursday and get to work on a two-game road trip. We've got a good chance to make some special things happen here."

How It Happened
Loyola had a slow start Tuesday night with St. Bonaventure controlling most of the first seven minutes. Francis Nwaokorie swung momentum for the Ramblers, draining a three at the 13:27 mark. SBU answered to tie the game 10-all before Des Watson's three opened a 12-2 run for Loyola.

Watson kept the Ramblers going with a steal and feed to Jalen DeLoach on the fast break. Both would score again during the stretch, while Sheldon Edwards Jr.'s three at the 6:22 mark capped it. The Bonnie cut Loyola's lead down to one with back-to-back threes by the 2:24 mark, but the Ramblers responded with eight straight to end the half. Watson closed the half, going coast to coast with a steal and layup. Loyola led 33-24 at the half.

The Ramblers stayed hot in the second, pushing the lead to double-figures with a 12-4 run to open. Dawson and Edwards Jr. netted back-to-back threes to go up 45-28 at the 15:55 mark. Rubin kept the energy electric with three alley-oops over the next two minutes. Kymany Houinsou assisted the first two, while Dawson found him on the final look for a 20-point lead.

Loyola kept its lead over 20 for majority of the final seven minutes. Jalen Quinn had two driving layups for a 25-point edge, while Jack Turner came off the bench with a jumper in the paint for the largest lead at 27. The Ramblers ran away to win, 77-53.
