CHICAGO – The Loyola University Chicago men's and women's track teams are set to compete in the Chicagoland Championships this weekend (April 4-5). Meanwhile, James Lawrence will head to the west coast for the Stanford Invitational on Friday (April 4).
The Ramblers head into the weekend with both their men's and women's 1,500m squads ranked in the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings. The men's team holds the 15th spot nationally, while the women rank 31st. Additionally, in the USTFCCCA Regional TFRI (Track & Field Rating Index), the men's track team is ranked 14th in the Midwest region, with the women close behind at No. 18.
Lawrence is set to race in the 10K at Cobb Track and Angell Field. His race will begin at approximately 11:27 p.m. CT.
At the Chicagoland Championships, the Ramblers will compete in the men's and women's 800m and 1,500m, as well as the men's 3K steeplechase. On Friday (April 4), the men's steeplechase is set to begin at 6:35 p.m. at Langhorst Field. The top-36 1,500m entries will follow at 6:55 p.m.. On Saturday (April 5), the slower 1,500m entries will start the day at 11:30 a.m. before action concludes at 1:40 p.m. with the 800m.
Following this weekend, the Maroon and Gold will compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational and Wheaton "Don Church" Twilight Meet next week (April 16-17).
