WASHINGTON – Loyola Chicago women's golf had two student-athletes named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team, while head coach
Brandy Johnston earned her second straight Coach of the Year nod. The league announced the full slate of awards Friday afternoon.
Grace Hui and
Teagan Connors are the two Ramblers voted to the 10-player all-conference team. This marks the second consecutive honor for Hui.
At the A-10 tournament, the Ramblers were led by Hui, who finished the event in second place with a score of +10 (+4, +3, +3). Hui's runner-up finish was her career-best and was her third career top 10. She placed ninth at the Velvet Classic (Sept. 15-16) hosted by Murray State earlier this season.
Hui finished the year with a 77.2 scoring average over 32 rounds of play. She had a season-low round score of 70 at the Velvet Classic in round two.
Connors posted a career-best finish at the A-10 Tournament, placing 12
th in late April. She scored +25 (+8, +11, +6). It marked the fourth finish for Connors inside the top 20 this season.
The rookie held a 78.1 scoring average this season over 32 rounds of play. She also recorded a season-low round score at the Velvet Classic with a 71 in round two. Connors was tabbed the A-10 Rookie of the Week four times this season.
Head Coach Johnston was named Co-Coach of the Year with Calle Barlow of Richmond. This marks the second straight COTY honor for Johnston.
Johnston piloted the Ramblers to a second-place team finish at the A-10 Tournament with two Ramblers landing in the top 10. She led Connors to four Rookie of the Week nods,
Reese Kite to one Rookie of the Week accolade, and
Cassie Psuik to one Golfer of the Week recognition this season.
