Loyola Chicago (4-1-1) wraps up its nonconference schedule this week at Eastern Michigan (2-3) on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 3:30 p.m. and at Marquette (4-3) on Sunday, Sept.14 at 4 p.m. Both times are in central.
QUICK KICKS
- Loyola heads into the two-match road trip on the heels of a 1-0 shutout at Illinois State on Sunday, Sept. 7. Senior forward Molly Pistorius netted the game-winner – her first goal of the season – on a setup from junior forward Zoe Hevey, marking her second assist on the year.
- Hevey is the Atlantic 10 leader in shots with 24 and tied for 18th nationally with her 4.00/game average.
- Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Allison Deardorff recorded her fifth straight clean sheet against the Redbirds, making two saves. She leads the A-10 in both goals against average (.333) and in shutouts per game (.833); nationally, she is tied for second and 21st in shutouts and GAA, respectively.
- The Ramblers currently rank ninth in the eastern region of the United Soccer Coaches Top 10 Regional Rankings.
- Loyola welcomed 10 newcomers to their 2025 roster, including five true freshmen and five transfers while 18 Ramblers returned.
- At the helm of the program is head coach Jon Sandoval in his first season at Loyola.
SCOUTING REPORT
The Eagles' most recent result was a 1-0 loss at the DePaul Blue Demons (Sept. 7); while out-shooting its opponent by just one shot, DePaul had two more on-target attempts than EMU. Nine different Eagles took one shot, three of which were on goal, while goalkeeper Ella Holland made four stops.
Marquette fell 1-0 to Kansas City on the road (Sept. 4) in its latest competition; the Golden Eagles' match against a Top 10 Notre Dame team was canceled on Sunday, Sept. 7. Senior forward Josie Bieda currently ranks fifth in the Big East in shots on goal while sophomore forward Jocelyn Leigh is No. 5 in goals with three.
SERIES HISTORY
Loyola leads the all-time series against EMU, 2-1-1, with the last meeting in September 2024 resulting in a 1-0 victory for the Ramblers on their home turf.
Since their first meeting in 1993, the Golden Eagles are 5-1 against the Ramblers. Sunday's contest marks the first between the two programs in over a decade.
