Loyola Chicago shuts out Holy Cross (Ind.), 2-0

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago broke through with two late goals to secure a 2-0 victory over Holy Cross (Ind.) on Tuesday night at Loyola Soccer Park.

How it Happened
After controlling possession for much of the match, the Ramblers (4-3-3) finally found the breakthrough in the 70th minute when Arved von Vegesack netted his first goal of the season off a build-up assisted by Hugo Urdiales and Antonio Pinto. Pinto then put the result out of reach in the 90th minute, finishing a feed from Angel Mendez for his team-leading fifth goal of the year.

Loyola fired 19 shots, including 13 in the second half, and earned eight corner kicks while limiting the Saints (5-5-0) to just three shots overall. Urdiales added two shots, while Kike Morales Bilbao and von Vegesack kept steady pressure on the Holy Cross defense.

Goalkeeper Frankie Pinto made two saves to post his first clean sheet of the season in his second start.
