CHICAGO - Separated by 11 Red Line stops, the Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team heads to Lincoln Park for the Red Line Rivalry. The Ramblers kick off against DePaul this Sunday (Sept. 7) at 4 p.m. on Wish Field. The match will stream live on ESPN+.
- The Maroon and Gold enter the game on the heels of a 2-2 draw against Wright State at home this past Thursday night.
- Angel Mendez's first goal of the season and Daniel Firs' second-ever helped the Ramblers log the tie.
- After going up 1-0 in the 37th minute, the 'Blers showed resiliency after the Raiders scored two second-half goals to take a brief lead. Firs' goal, assisted by Jack
- McFeely and Joaquin Rodriguez, leveled the affair in the 83rd minute.
- Goalkeeper Aidan Crawford made two saves on 10 Wright State shots in his first start of the season.
- LUC out-shot WSU, 14 (5) - 9 (3), marking the third time Loyola has out-shot its foes this season.
- Loyola Chicago led 5-1 in corners, the team's largest margin since Oct. 19, 2024 vs. La Salle (9-0).
- After recording their third straight draw, Loyola looks to get back in the win column Sunday at DePaul, where both teams enter the match undefeated.
- The last time LUC was undefeated through the first four games was 2022.
- Following the Red Line Rivalry, LUC faces off against SIUE Thursday (Sept. 11) on the road.

- Head Coach Mark Plotkin is in his eighth season leading DePaul. He holds a 33-51-30 (.421) career record.
- Loyola and DePaul share common 2025 opponents in Oakland and Purdue Fort Wayne. DePaul played to draws against both, while the Ramblers drew with PFW and edged Oakland, 3-2
- Most recently, DePaul logged a 1-1 draw with UIC at home. The Blue Demons have yet to play a road contest.

- Loyola was picked seventh in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Coaches' Poll. Defending champion Dayton topped the poll with eight first-place votes, followed by George
- Mason and Saint Louis. The Ramblers earned 91 points in the voting by the league's 13 head coaches.
- The offseason featured plenty of activity. Grant Bailey, selected 86th overall by D.C. United in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, returns for another season with Loyola.
- Former Ramblers Julian Cisneros and Marc Torrelles signed with FC Naples in USL League One, where they've impressed in their rookie campaigns.
- The team also spent spring break in Italy, traveling to Milan, Lake Como, Parma and Rome while facing Serie D competition.
- Loyola capped the spring by defeating Northwestern to claim the Chicago Cup for the fourth time since 2010.
- On the sidelines, assistant coach Ricardo Pinto returned to the staff, while former pro Kervin Kenton joined as an assistant as well.
- This season marks the first without former A-10 member Massachusetts, which moved to the Mid-American Conference in July.
- Loyola returns 17 players and seven starters responsible for 21 of its 24 goals last season, along with 59 of 72 points.

- In an all-time series that dates to 1981, LUC leads, 23-15-5.

- The last time Loyola Chicago visited wish Field, the Ramblers won, 4-2. The 'Blers had a 20 (10) – 8 (2) advantage in shot attempts. Current Ramblers Ben Bischof and Petar Janjic scored in that match.
- Most recently though, DePaul downed Loyola, 3-1, last season.
- Luka Ivancic scored in the 74th minute for the Maroon and Gold, but the Blue Demons held on to win the 2024 iteration of the Red Line Rivalry.
- Jack McFeely had a chance to level the match at 2-2 in the 80th minute, but his strike was saved.
- Despite falling, the Ramblers out-shot DePaul, 21 (10) - 8 (6). Loyola's 21 shots and 10 on-goal were the team's second-most of the season.
