Loyola Chicago Secures First A10 Victory

CHICAGO -- Under the lights at Loyola Soccer Park, the Ramblers secured their first Atlantic 10 victory with a 2-1 win against the Davidson Wildcats on Saturday, Oct. 3. Loyola Chicago improved to 6-3-3 overall and 1-1-1 in league play.

"It was a really good win tonight against a well-organized and well-coached team. We came out strong and the boys were excited to play in front of our home crowd," said head coach Kevin Robson. "I thought our second half was fantastic, limiting chances and utilizing our pace up top, which we talked about a lot. I'm really proud of Nico [Kehayov] and Chim [Okeke] for finding those goals for us."

How it Happened
Loyola grabbed an early 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from freshman Nico Kehayov, scoring in the 14th minute, assisted by rookie Mateusz Drazek. The Ramblers tacked on another goal from sophomore forward Chimnosoh Okeke -- his first goal of the season -- just a minute later, assisted by freshman Cohen Havill and junior Luka Ivancic.

Davidson got on the board to make it a 2-1 game with a 36th-minute goal, but Loyola held on for the win.
