KILDEER, ILLINOIS – The Rambler men's golf team wrapped up the two-day Kemper Lakes Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon. Loyola Chicago competed at the Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer, Illinois, on the par-72, 7,217-yard course.
Loyola finished in seventh at +69 (309-309-315) with a total score of 933.
"The conditions were really hard out there for these guys," said head coach Peter Pougnet. "They fought and battled but the wind and firmness of the course made it challenging. We haven't faced a challenge like that all year. Our young team is gaining a lot of experience that will pay off."
Jackson Overton led the Ramblers, finishing tied for 21st at +14 with a three-round score of 230. Overton posted rounds of 76, 76 and 78, finishing the tournament with 8 birdies, tying tenth among the field.
Next up for the Ramblers, Yago Lopez finished tied for 32nd at +17 with a three-round score of 223. Lopez carded rounds of 78, 78 and 77, recording 31 total pars and 5 birdies.
Alex Lee finished tied for 39th at +20 with a three-round score of 236. Lee posted rounds of 74, 77 and 85.
Michael Washburne also tied for 39th at +20 with a three-round score of 236. Washburne carded rounds of 81, 78 and 77.
Connor Woodin finished tied for 57th at +29 with a three-round score of 245. Lopez posted rounds of 83, 79 and 83.
Cori Lee competed individually for the Ramblers, finishing tied for 53rd at +28 with a three-round score of 244. Lee recorded rounds of 79, 86 and 79, along with 28 total pars and three birdies.
Loyola will return to action in two weeks at the Qubein Cup on Oct. 19-20 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
