Ramblers Finish In Third Place At Butler Fall Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Loyola Chicago women's golf team ended play at the Butler Fall Invitational in third place, which is the team's best finish in an event with 10 or more teams since the 2023 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational. In addition, the Ramblers were once again led by the play of junior Grace Hui and sophomore Robbin Zetrouer.

Thanks to the team's best final round performance of their season, Loyola was able to jump into sole possession of third place at the 14-team event with a final score of 46-over-par (+15, +19, +12). Host Butler won the team title with a final score of 16-over-par, while Butler's Rachel Johnson took home the individual title with a score of even par.

"This was our most complete tournament of the season," said head coach Brandy Johnston. "Our third round has been our highest scoring round this fall, so the goal today was to have our best round of the tournament, and we did. We fought for every stroke the past two days, and I am really proud of our effort."

Grace Hui led the Ramblers for the third time this season with a final score of +7 (+5, +3, -1), which landed her in a tie for sixth place overall. This is Hui's second top-10 finish of the year and is the fifth of her career. Her one-under-par, 69-stroke round three performance was also the team's best of the week and was her third under-par round of the season.

Just behind Hui on the leaderboard was Robbin Zetrouer, who had a season-best finishing position of 11th place. For the second straight event, Zetrouer ended at +8 (+1, +3, +4), which is her career-best 54-hole score to par. In the first round, she recorded her new career-low round thanks to her one-over-par, 71-stroke performance.

"Grace earned another top-10 finish after draining a birdie putt on the last hole," continued Johnston. "She was steady all day, and it paid off in the end. Robbin provided us with another strong finish as well. These two have really been difference makers for us, and I'm excited to see what we can do next."

In addition, sophomore Reese Kite ended in a tie for 25th with a score of +15 (+3, +4, +8). Kite's 73-stroke round one performance was tied for the lowest round of her career. Next, junior Madison Haugen finished with a score of +18 (+8, +5, +5) to land in a tie for 36th place. Haugen's six birdies this week were tied for the team lead with Robbin Zetrouer. Sophomore Maureen O'Leary concluded play in a tie for 48th place with a score of +22 (+6, +8, +8). Finally, freshman Sofia Afable, who played this tournament as an individual, ended with a score of +38 (+17, +9, +12).

The Ramblers will close out their fall season in two weeks at the Dayton Invitational in Kettering, Ohio Oct. 19-20.
