DADE CITY, Fla. – Loyola Chicago wrapped up its first event of the spring season Tuesday afternoon. The Ramblers competed in three rounds of action in Dade City at the Lake Jovita Invitational.
Loyola took seventh out of 14 teams, scoring three-under-par at 861 (291-286-284).
"I'm super proud of these guys. We faced a lot of adversity this week, and they responded tremendously," said head coach
Peter Pougnet. "Coming off the winter, they were prepared and ready to compete. Seb really stepped up and led us this week, and Dori played some great golf as well. It's not the result we wanted, but given the week, finishing under-par, and beating some good teams, I'm proud of the effort we showed. We are looking forward to getting better before our next event."
Sebastian Kasun snagged a top-10 finish after tying for seventh place. He was even in round one and improved in each round, finishing with a score of 209 (72-69-68).
Dori Lee tied for 20
th on the leaderboards with a score of 214 (70-72-72). He was -2 after the three rounds.
Charlie Kulwin,
Zach Mulhearn, and
Jackson Overton were all tied after the first two rounds. Kulwin moved up after round three, tying for 46
th with a score of 221 (72-78-71). Mulhearn finished with a score of 223 (77-73-73) to tie 58
th. Overton took 71st with a score of 225 (78-72-75).
As an individual,
Connor Woodin placed 66
th with a score of 224 (75-73-76).
The Ramblers continue spring play Feb. 23-24 at the Gulf Coast Collegiate in New Orleans.
