Ramblers Add Toney Anderson to Men's Soccer Coaching Staff

CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago head men's soccer coach Kevin Robson has announced the hiring of Toney Anderson as an assistant coach. A Midwest native with extensive experience in goalkeeper development and a track record of success at the collegiate level, Anderson joins the Ramblers ahead of the 2026 season.

"We're thrilled to welcome Toney to Rogers Park," Robson said. "He is one of the rising stars in the coaching profession and played a key role in helping High Point reach the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 last season, the best finish in program history. Toney has outstanding recruiting connections throughout the Midwest and the South, and he has a tremendous ability to build relationships with student-athletes. He is an excellent addition to our program, and we're excited for our team to get to work with him."

Anderson arrives at Loyola Chicago after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach at High Point, where he helped guide the Panthers to one of the most successful stretches in program history.

In his first season with High Point in 2023, the Panthers posted a 10-4-5 record, captured the Big South Conference regular season championship and claimed the conference tournament title to earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

High Point followed with another strong campaign in 2024, finishing 11-4-2 while securing its second consecutive Big South regular season championship and advancing to the conference tournament final.

The Panthers reached new heights in 2025, finishing 14-2-4 and winning a third straight Big South regular season title. High Point also claimed its second Big South Tournament championship in three seasons during Anderson's tenure before advancing to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for just the second time in program history. With the highest national seed in school history in hand, the Panthers defeated West Virginia, 3-2, in the second round to punch their ticket to the national round of 16.

Anderson also played a key role in the development of goalkeeper Josh Caron, who was named the 2025 Big South Goalkeeper of the Year.

"It is an honor to join Coach Robson, Coach Powers and the Loyola men's soccer program," Anderson said. "I'm excited to get on the field, start working with this group, and help continue building on the program's success. There is tremendous potential here, and I'm looking forward to helping our student-athletes grow while competing for championships."

Before joining the High Point staff, Anderson served as an assistant coach at Concordia University Wisconsin, where he specialized in goalkeeper development after previously working as a graduate assistant at the University of Evansville.

Following his collegiate playing career, Anderson coached goalkeepers with FC United MLS NEXT before joining Bavarian SC MLS NEXT, continuing to develop some of the region's top young talent.

A 2020 graduate of UIC, Anderson spent three seasons at Wisconsin-Whitewater before transferring to the Flames for his final collegiate campaign. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance.

A Racine, Wis., native, Anderson's passion for coaching stems from a family tradition, having worked alongside his father at Camp Shutout—the world's largest goalkeeper camp—since 2016.
