Loyola, Marquette Meet Sunday Afternoon

CHICAGO - Women's soccer continues its road trip at Marquette Sunday afternoon. The Ramblers and Golden Eagles kick off at 1 p.m. CT in Milwaukee to wrap up this week's action.

QUICK KICKS
• The Ramblers earned a 1-0 shutout on the road earlier this week at NIU. Loyola out shot NIU, 16-14.
• Catherine Cline finally broke through in the 70th minute to put the Ramblers up, 1-0. NIU wouldn't get another chance on goal, and Loyola went on to win.
• Loyola picked up two scoreless draws last week against Chicagoland rivals Northwestern and DePaul.
• The Ramblers' tie at Northwestern marks the first point against the Wildcats since the 2006 season. The tie at DePaul extends the unbeaten streak against the Blue Demons to six matches.
• Allison Deardorff was awarded Atlantic 10 Defender of the Week following her efforts in goal against both opponents. She saved a season-high eight shots at NU and tallied two more against DePaul. It's the eighth time she's brought home a weekly honor in her career.
• Deardorff ranks among the league's best keepers through the first seven matches this season. Her total shutouts (5) ranks first, total saves (29) ranks fourth, saves per game (4.14) ranks sixth, and goals against average (.86) ranks fifth.
• The senior keeper is also on the brink of history. Her shutout at NIU brought her career total to 23. With two more, she will break Monica Gonyo's from 2014.
• Maggie Schmidt and Sarah Collins combine for Loyola's three goals scored this year. Schmidt has two, including the game winner against Central Michigan in the opener. Collins recorded her first career goal and game winner vs. Illinois State.
• Head coach Jon Sandoval is in his second season leading the Ramblers. He holds a 12-6-8 record with Loyola. Over his seven year head coaching career, Sandoval sits at 74-26-23 overall.

SCOUTING MARQUETTE
• The Golden Eagles are 3-1-3 heading into the match-up Sunday afternoon after suffering their first loss of the season earlier this week at No. 17 Baylor, 1-0.
• Megan Murray leads Marquette with three goals this season on 13 total shots. She scored the game winners in the first two matches of the year at St. Thomas and North Dakota State.
• Mia Hurd started all seven matches in goal this year. She's made 21 saves and holds a .31 goals against average after only allowing two goals in 585 minutes played.

SERIES HISTORY
Marquette leads the all-time series 5-1-1. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in last year's meeting for Loyola's first point against the Golden Eagles since 1994.
