CHICAGO- Loyola Chicago men's soccer looks to keep its unbeaten start to the 2026 campaign alive with a trip to crosstown rival UIC Sunday night. Kickoff is set to 7 p.m. between the Ramblers and Flames. 

QUICK KICKS 
• Loyola is off to the best start since the 2016 season when the Ramblers went 7-0-0 that year.
• The streak stayed alive with an 89th minute goal from Arved von Vegesack to steal a 1-0 win over SIUE Thursday night at Loyola Soccer Park. It marks Vegesack's second goal and game winner of the year.
• Mateusz Drazek assisted on the game winner with a ball up the middle to Vegesack who beat two defenders to get the goal. It was Drazek's third assist of the season.
• The Ramblers picked up a pair of wins in Omaha last week in the Jesuit Invitational. The Ramblers took down Santa Clara, 3-2, followed by a shutout vs. Gonzaga, 1-0.
• Ivancic scored on both matches to post a three-match scoring streak. He scored on a penalty kick against both DePaul and Gonzaga and netted the first of three against Santa Clara.
• Drazek took home Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors following the Santa Clara match where he had one goal and assisted on the game winner. It's the second time he's received the award this season.
• Loyola's 14 goals forced this season ranks second most in the A10 behind La Salle who has forced 19. The Ramblers are also just three away from matching last season's goal total.
• Ivancic leads Loyola with three of those goals. His three assists is tied second on the team, while his nine total points is third most by a player in the Atlantic 10.
• Head coach Kevin Robson is in his first year at the helm. He was named the fifth head coach in program history in December 2025.

SCOUTING UIC
• The Flames enter Sunday's match at 1-3-1 overall with their lone win coming on their home turf earlier this week against Western Illinois, 2-0.
• Despite the results, UIC is out shooting its opponents 96-42 over the five matches played with three players north of 10 each. 
• Martin Montoya has three of UIC's six goals scored this season, including the game winner against the Leathernecks. He is also tied as the team's shot leader with 14 and counting.
• Owen Cornell started all five matches in goal for the Flames. He's made 12 saves on 43 shots faced.
• Darrell Turcios was a Preseason All-MVC Team selection, while UIC was tabbed fourth in the poll after coming off a 10-win season in 2025.

SERIES HISTORY
UIC leads the all-time series, 20-14-4. The Flames have won the last three matches, including a 3-1 victory at Loyola Soccer Park last year.
