Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Ramblers Fall To Flames, 1-0

CHICAGO – A goal in the second minute of play handed the Ramblers their first loss of the season across town. UIC beat Loyola Chicago, 1-0, Sunday night to wrap up the week's action.

With the loss, the Ramblers fall to 5-1-2 overall.

"I have to give credit to UIC. I thought they played a very good game and deserved the result," said head coach Kevin Robson. "The guys just wrapped up four games in nine days, and I thought we came out a bit flat but responded really well in the second half. Overall, I am very happy with where we are at and really excited for a much deserved few days off. We're looking forward to conference play starting up next weekend."

How It Happened
The Flames scored just 1:31 into the match, finding the back of the net on the first shot attempt of the match. Chimnosoh Okeke, Arved von Vegesack, and Luka Ivancic had near attempts in the first half to try to equalize the match, but UIC held on to the lead at the break.

Vegesack came out of the break with a shot on goal attempt less than four minutes in that was saved by the Flames. Okeke had one of the closest looks of the half with a free kick that ricocheted off the top woodwork. Daniel Firs and Benji Chavarria nearly scored in the final minutes, but UIC's lead held for the win, 1-0.
