Ramblers Drop A10 Opener at Fordham

BRONX, N.Y. – Loyola Chicago men's soccer dropped its Atlantic 10 opener at Fordham Saturday afternoon, 2-0. The Rams scored their game winner in the 23rd minute.

With the loss, Loyola falls to 5-2-2 overall and 0-1-0 in A10 play.

"It was a tough result on the road today," said head coach Kevin Robson. "I thought we created some solid looks, but we were missing a little edge and sophistication around goal today. Fordham is a well-organized group and deserved the game. I am looking forward to Saturday at home and a good week of training."

How It Happened
The match was even with 11 shots by each team.  Loyola put the first on goal with an attempt by Nico Kehayov in the 15th minute, but Bruno Cellerion netted the first on target attempt for the Rams in the 23rd. It would go down as the game winner. Petar Janjic nearly had the equalizer in the 39th, but Fordham held on to the 1-0 edge at the break.

The Ramblers tallied one more attempt on goal in the 62nd minute, but Arved von Vegesack's shot was saved. The Rams broke through the defense one last time in the final 15 seconds to add another goal to the board and win, 2-0.
