Women's Soccer Kicks Off A10 Play at Fordham

CHICAGO - The Ramblers open up Atlantic 10 action on the road this week. Loyola Chicago takes on Fordham on Sept. 20 at 12 p.m. CT. The Ramblers look to extend their unbeaten streak to six matches, while the Rams look to rally from a loss at Yale.

QUICK KICKS
• Loyola went 1-0-1 last week, extending their unbeaten streak to five straight matches. Loyola beat NIU on the road, 1-0, before playing to a draw at Marquette, 1-1.
Riga Kallaba scored her first career goal for the Ramblers against the Golden Eagles to help her earn her first Atlantic 10 Rookie of the week nod.
• The Ramblers started the week with a 1-0 win at NIU. Loyola out shot NIU, 16-14. Catherine Cline finally broke through in the 70th minute to put the Ramblers up, 1-0. NIU wouldn't get another chance on goal, and Loyola went on to win.
Allison Deardorff was awarded Atlantic 10 Defender of the Week following her efforts in goal against both Northwestern and DePaul two weeks ago. She saved a season-high eight shots at NU and tallied two more against DePaul. It's the eighth time she's brought home a weekly honor in her career.
• Deardorff ranks among the league's best keepers through the first eight matches this season. Her total shutouts (5) ranks first, total saves (35) ranks third, saves per game (4.38) ranks fifth, and goals against average (.88) ranks sixth.
• Deardorff's five shutouts is third in the NCAA. She's behind the nation's leader who has seven. Her saves (56th), saves per game, (84th), and goals against average (99th) also ranks in the top-100.
• The senior keeper is also on the brink of history. Her shutout at NIU brought her career total to 23. With two more, she will break Monica Gonyo's from 2014.
• Head coach Jon Sandoval is in his second season leading the Ramblers. He holds a 12-6-9 record with Loyola. Over his seven year head coaching career, Sandoval sits at 74-26-24 overall.

SCOUTING FORDHAM
• The Rams are 3-3-1 heading into conference play with wins over Marist, Hofstra, and Columbia. Fordham fell in its last non-conference match up at Yale, 5-1, over the weekend.
• Liv Johnson leads Fordham in scoring with three goals this season. She scored against Marist and in back-to-back matches vs. Stonehill and Columbia
• Addison Green has logged every minute in goal for the Rams. She's made 29 saves and holds a 1.86 goals against average.

SERIES HISTORY
