CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago remains undefeated on its home turf after picking up a 1-1 draw against George Washington Saturday night.
Lucas Webb scored the tying goal in the final 20 seconds of the match.
With the draw, Loyola improves to 5-2-3 overall and 0-1-1 in A10 play.
"I'm really proud of the performance. The guys were dialed in from the first whistle," said head coach
Kevin Robson. "They worked on a lot of things that we talked about this week. They were connected in our press and created chances with our defense. This is a team that can keep growing throughout the season. They're resilient. Don't count them out."
How It Happened
Saturday got off to a slow start with only one shot registered in the first 18 minutes. Loyola wouldn't get their first shot off until the 35
th minute with a wide right attempt from
Luka Ivancic. George Washington forced the first save of the match in the 41
st, but it stayed scoreless at the break.
The Ramblers kicked it up a notch in the second half with three shots in the first eight minutes, but the Revs would find the back of the net on the next shot on goal attempt. Finn Roberts put a throw in into the box that Foday Bangura headed down to the feet of Tommaso Lami for a goal in the 74
th minute.
Loyola didn't let up and nearly tied the match on a
Seth Stewart attempt that was saved high by the Revs. The Ramblers put away the equalizer with 16 seconds left in the match.
