Ramblers, Wildcats Set for Thursday Night Kick Off

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago takes on Chicagoland foe Northwestern Thursday night in Evanston. The Ramblers and Wildcats kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT at Martin Stadium. Both teams look to build off wins from their most recent matches over the weekend

QUICK KICKS
• The Ramblers earned their second win and shutout of the season over the weekend against the Redbirds of Illinois State. Loyola scored two late goals to power the win.
• It took until the 74th minute for the Ramblers to break through the Redbird defense. Collins got her left foot on the ball for a goal low past the keeper. Mia Lanni recorded the assist on the game winner.
Maggie Schmidt headed the second goal by the keeper in the 86th minute off an assist from Addison Schaffer for Loyola.
Allison Deardorff made two saves on nine shots faced. It marked her second shutout of the season in goal. She now ranks third all-time with 20 career shutouts. The record stands at 24 by Monica Gonyo (2011-14).
• Deardorff has made 18 stops between the posts for the Ramblers, ranking third in the A10 in total saves. Her .750 save percentage ranks sixth.
• Schmidt leads the Ramblers with four points on two goals this season. She is tied fifth with six other A10 players who have two goals on the year. Her four points sits seventh in the conference.
Zoe Hevey returned to the starting line-up after sitting out the first few games with an injury. Hevey was named to the A10 Preseason All-Conference Team and tabbed as an IWSOC/United Soccer Coaches Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Positional Players to Watch
• Head coach Jon Sandoval is in his second season leading the Ramblers. He holds a 11-6-6 record with Loyola. Over his seven year head coaching career, Sandoval sits at 73-26-21 overall.

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN
• The Wildcats are 2-2-1 entering this week's action after tying 1-1 with Illinois State and picking up a 1-0 road win at Butler.
• Northwestern was tabbed eighth in the Big Ten Preseason Poll, while Keira Kemmerley, Megan Norkett and Kennedy Roesch were all named 2026 Big Ten Players to Watch.
• Sarah O'Donnell is the team's leader in points after the first five games. She has three with one goal and assist recorded.
• Two keepers have split time in goal. CJ Roy has a team-leading seven saves.

SERIES HISTORY
Northwestern leads the all-time series, 11-1-1. Northwestern has won the last five meetings.
