Ramblers and Blue Demons Draw in Red Line Rivalry

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Loyola Chicago and DePaul finished in a 0-0 tie Sunday, Sept. 6 at Loyola Soccer Park. The Ramblers, now 2-2-2 overall, were led by grad student Mia Lanni with three shots.

"We weren't willing to battle for 90 minutes the same way that DePaul was willing to," said head coach Jon Sandoval. "It's really hard to win, it requires everyone to give everything every single moment. It was too casual today, we need to have more urgency across 90 minutes."

How it Happened
Loyola totaled 13 shots in the draw, with three on goal, while DePaul took seven. Senior keeper Allison Deardorff had two saves in the match.

The Ramblers only created three chances in the first half, before showing up in the second half with 10.

Inside the Box Score

  • Fifth-year and DePaul transfer Olivia Beam recorded her fourth consecutive match playing the full 90.
  • Senior midfielder Maggie Schmidt took Loyola's sole shot on goal.
  • Deardorff recorded the 22nd shutout of her career.
Up Next
The Ramblers begin a three-game road trip on Thursday, Sept. 10 at Northern Illinois.
