CHICAGO - Fresh off one of the most successful seasons in program history, the Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team released its 2016 spring schedule on Tuesday morning. The Ramblers will see action in six games over the months of February, March and April.

"We are very excited for the spring season to see how some of our younger players perform against quality competition and how our returning starters have improved since the end of the season," Loyola head women's soccer coach Barry Bimbi commented. "The spring is so important for the development of players, but also for the emerging leaders on the team to continue to add to our great culture. The challenge for this group will be to build on our great finish to the fall season and train at a championship level every day."

Loyola will open its spring slate on Saturday (Feb. 13) against Big Ten foe Purdue at noon (ET) in West Lafayette, Ind. Following just over a month break from competition, the Ramblers will be back in action in the Land of Lincoln when they make the short trip to Romeoville, Ill. for a Saturday night tilt with Lewis on March 19.

The Maroon & Gold will kick off the month of March with a clash against former Horizon League rival Milwaukee on April 3 at the Sportscore Two complex in Rockford, Ill. Following a trip north to Milwaukee, Wis. to take on Marquette two weeks later (April 17), the Ramblers will be back in action closer to home when they take part in the 2016 Chicago Cup, set to be hosted by Northwestern University at Lakeside Field in Evanston, Ill. on April 24.

Bimbi and his staff are expected to welcome back 19 letterwinners from last season's team in 2016. The group is highlighted by five players who received All-Missouri Valley Conference honors. The Ramblers are fresh off a 9-7-5 campaign in 2015, the fifth winning season in the 24-year history of the program, and advanced to the Final of the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Championship.
