In Short
Milton Doyle scored a team-high 20 points and grabbed six rebounds and Loyola University Chicago shot 52.2 (24-for-46) from the field en route to an 81-66 victory over Indiana State (7-15, 1-9 MVC) this afternoon at Hulman Center. The win, which is the Ramblers' third in a row, improves them to 16-7 overall and 6-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Coach Moser's Thoughts
"We approached this as a big game. We just finished the halfway point of the Valley season and felt that Indiana State had the toughest first nine games. It was huge for us to get a road win to start the second half at a place where we haven't played well. I was pleased with our effort. We came out ready to play and got an early lead. I'm happy with how we played with the lead until the last six minutes."

How It Happened
Loyola got off to a quick start, taking an 11-4 lead as it hit its first three shots from the field and first four from the free throw line, while also forcing three Sycamore turnovers.

The Ramblers would lead by as many as 21 in the opening period, and took a 32-15 advantage on Clayton Custer's first three-pointer of the day, with 4:47 remaining. A bucket by Aundre Jackson with 29 seconds left in the half put Loyola ahead 42-21 for its largest lead of the period.

Loyola worked the ball inside in the opening 20 minutes and made a living at the foul line, hitting 15 of 16 charity tosses, while also shooting 54.5 percent (12-for-22) from the field, en route to a 42-24 halftime advantage. Milton Doyle scored 11 of his 20 points in the opening 20 minutes as he extended his streak of games with 10 or more points to 24.

A stifling Loyola defense forced 10 Sycamore turnovers and held ISU's leading scorer Brenton Scott, who entered the contest ranked second in the Valley with 17.0 points per game, to two points on just 1 of 8 shooting in the first half.

Loyola opened the second half on a 13-6 run, capped by basket from Ingram, that gave it a 55-30 lead, and the Ramblers would coast from there, leading by as many as 29 points.
