How It Happened
Boise State put Loyola in a hole right off the bat, scoring the first 11 points of the game, while the Ramblers misfired on their first eight attempts from the field. A layup by
Lucas Williamson touched off a brief 7-0 run for Loyola that sliced the deficit to 11-7, before Boise State opened the game up.

The Broncos quickly turned a 19-11 lead into a 23-point advantage with a 20-5 surge that culminated with a jumper by Alex Hobbs, and Loyola would go into the intermission looking to regroup, down 41-20.
Â
Loyola shot the ball much more effectively in the second half, hitting 46.7 percent of its attempts from the field, but Boise State knocked down six of its first seven treys to open up a 67-35 lead that would grow to as many as 35 points.
