CHICAGO (November 6, 2017) – With the official start of the 2017-18 basketball seasons a few days away, the Loyola University Chicago Department of Athletics announced today several enhancements to the game-day atmosphere at Gentile Arena that will positively impact the overall fan experience.
Â
Daktronics has installed 10 state-of-the-art LED displays in Gentile Arena, including a center-hung ring display that measures 4 feet high by 81 feet in circumference and will show statistics and graphics throughout events.
Â
The new main video display is mounted on the east end of the Arena and measures 10 feet high by 24 feet wide. Two auxiliary displays, one on each side of the main display, will provide supplemental information to the main display, and two LED vomitory displays and four court-side LED scorer's table displays are also part of the new hardware.
Â
In addition to the new video displays, the Loyola student section, The Pack, has relocated from the west baseline to the lower level of the north side of the arena, running from end line to end line. This move allocates some of the best seats in Gentile Arena to Loyola students and should create an even more electric atmosphere that will provide Rambler teams with a tremendous home-court advantage.
Â
Lastly, after a one-year hiatus, fans will once again be able to purchase beer and wine at Rambler basketball games this season. Stands will be stationed outside of Section 114 (will accept credit cards) and outside of Section 107 (cash only) in Gentile Arena.
Â
The Loyola men open their season November 10 when they host Wright State at 7 p.m., while the Rambler women play their 2017-18 home opener on November 15 versus Western Michigan.
