ST. LOUIS, Mo. (September 25, 2017) – Lindsey Hardiman (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township), a freshman on the Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team, has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's Newcomer of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This marks the first weekly honor of Hardiman's career.
Hardiman found the back of the net in both of the Ramblers' road wins over the weekend. In Friday's thrilling 3-2 win over Evansville, she unleashed a screaming blast for 20 yards out in the 84
th minute to record her first collegiate goal as Loyola went on to secure a vital three points in the league table. The Gurnee, Ill. product followed up that performance by adding another tally as part of a 6-1 rout of Fort Wayne to close out the two-game road trip through Indiana.
Hardiman has been a fixture in head coach
Barry Bimbi's starting lineup during her first year with the Maroon & Gold. She's started in all 12 contests as Loyola has raced out to its best start in program history.
Loyola (9-3, 2-0 MVC) looks to extend its winning streak to seven games when it returns home to host Missouri State at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
