CHICAGO (February 9, 2018) -  Winner of nine of its last 10 games overall and four of its last five on the road, Loyola looks for a series split when it visits Indiana State Saturday afternoon. The Ramblers have reached double digit conference wins for just the fifth time in program history and first since 2006-07. On the 15 occasions it has totaled 15 or more assists this season, Loyola has averaged 81.3 points per game and shot a sizzling 55.1 percent (447-for-811) from the field. At 20-5 overall, the Ramblers have recorded the 14th 20-win season in program history and the second in the last four years under head coach
Porter Moser. Prior to his arrival for the 2011-12 campaign, Loyola had one 20-win season in 26 years.

Series Stuff
Loyola and Indiana State are squaring off for the 27th time in a series that traces its roots back to 1924. The Sycamores own a 15-11 edge in the all-time series, but the Ramblers have captured four of the last six matchups. When the teams met at Gentile Arena last month, Brenton Scott's layup with a little over a minute remaining gave the Sycamores the lead for good and was part of a game-closing 14-4 run that lifted Indiana State to a 61-57 victory.
Donte Ingram scored a team-high 16 points to pace Loyola in that contest, its only setback at Gentile Arena this season.
Â
Loyola's 81-66 victory at Hulman Center last January was its first win in Terre Haute since joining the MVC and first there since 1995. The Ramblers are 3-7 all-time against ISU in Terre Haute, but have dropped four of the last five at Hulman Center. Since joining the Missouri Valley Conference for the 2013-14 season, Loyola is 4-7 against Indiana State.

Scouting Indiana State
Indiana State has stumbled in four of its last five outings and is coming off of an 81-62 loss to Missouri State on Tuesday evening. Prior to this recent slump, the Sycamores had won three of their previous four contests. The Sycamores are 7-5 at home this season, but have been knocked off in each of their last two appearances at Hulman Center, falling to Bradley and Missouri State. Seven of Indiana State's 14 losses have come by six points or less.
Â
Tied with Loyola for second in The Valley in scoring offense with 73.4 ppg, Indiana State is led by the high-scoring tandem of guards Jordan Barnes (17.2 ppg, 3.7 apg) and Preseason All-MVC pick Brenton Scott (15.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg). Between the two, 56 percent of their field goal attempts come from beyond the arc. Guard Qiydar Davis, a fifth-year transfer from Louisiana Tech, rounds out head coach Greg Lansing's cast of double-figure scorers with 10.3 ppg.Â
