Loyola’s Sweet 16 Rematch Versus Nevada To Be Televised On ESPNEWS

Ramblers and Wolf Pack to tangle at Gentile Arena November 27

CHICAGO (September 5, 2018) – A rematch of one of last year's NCAA tournament thrillers will air live on ESPNEWS, it was announced today. Loyola University Chicago and Nevada will square off at Gentile Arena on November 27 at 7 p.m. CT, nearly eight months to the day of their Sweet 16 instant classic, in a Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge contest. The game will also be available through the ESPN App, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.

When the teams last met, on March 22 in Atlanta in the NCAA South Regional semifinal, Marques Townes drained a three-pointer with less than seven seconds remaining to seal the outcome in Loyola's 69-68 victory.

The game will be the Ramblers' second at home in the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge, with Loyola emerging victorious, 65-59, over San Diego State on December 3, 2016 in its only previous home game in the Challenge series.

Loyola returns three starters, including Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America guard Clayton Custer, from last season's 32-win outfit that reached the NCAA Final Four for the first time in 55 years. The Ramblers officially open the 2018-19 campaign on November 6 when they host UMKC.
