CHICAGO (April 7, 2019) – The Loyola University Chicago men's golf team will compete in its final event of the 2018-19 regular season at the start of the coming week as it travels to Nashville, Tenn. for the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate.
Â
The two-day event is slated to begin on Monday at the par-71, 6,962-yard course at the Richland Country Club and will feature the opening 36 holes of play. Action will wrap up on Tuesday with final-round play.Â
Golfstat.com will provide live scoring throughout both days.
Â
Loyola joins Missouri Valley Conference rival Bradley as part of a deep field that also includes host Lipscomb, Austin Peay, Belmont, Bowling Green, Florida Gulf Coast, North Alabama, North Dakota State, Omaha, Samford, Southern Mississippi, Stetson, South Carolina Upstate, and Xavier.
Â
Head coach
Erik Hoops will make no changes to the lineup he sent out for the UNA Spring Classic in Loyola's most recent action of the spring campaign. That quintet includes senior
Orion Yamat, junior
Justin LaFrance, sophomores
Tyler Anderson and
Devin Johnson, and freshman
Nate Vance.
Â
Yamat turned in a sparkling performance in Killen, Ala., firing a one-over-par 217 (72-70-75) to finish in sole-possession of seventh place. For his efforts, the Niles, Ill. product, who holds a team-low 73.9 stroke average, was named the MVC Men's Golfer of the Week on March 27.
Â
After returning from Nashville, Loyola will be idle for just under two weeks before it heads to Sunrise Beach, Mo. for the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship, April 22-23.Â
